Regenerative endodontics/regenendo is one of the newest developments in endodontic treatment today based on cutting-edge research. Regenerative endodontics uses the concept of tissue engineering to restore the root canals to a healthy state, allowing for continued development of the root and surrounding tissue. This is a treatment that targets teeth with immature root formation that had stopped in evolution due to pulp necrosis. Is usually caused by trauma- in the anterior teeth, decay and/or dens evaginatus in the premolar/ molar area. The purpose of regenendo is to induce continuation of root development, ideally gaining both width and length.
